[PYM] 10.0 Yeshua’s Promises on Security & Protection

Yeshua offers profound assurance to His followers that they are not alone in the trials and dangers of life. His promises of security and protection are both physical and spiritual—ensuring the believer’s perseverance, ultimate safety in God’s hands, and eternal security beyond death.

In Matthew, Yeshua teaches that God watches over His children intimately. He says: “Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows” (Matthew 10:29–31) This shows that even in times of persecution, believers are under God’s eye. In Matthew 28:20, the Great Commission concludes with a promise of His abiding presence: “to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.”  This is a foundational assurance of security in Messiah’s presence.

In Mark, Yeshua promises protection amid mission and danger. In Mark 16:17–18, He says: “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover”  Though not to be interpreted prescriptively for testing God, this illustrates supernatural protection for those walking in obedience and faith.

In Luke, Yeshua encourages endurance with the assurance of divine protection. He declares: “And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake. But there shall not an hair of your head perish” (Luke 21:17–18). While physical suffering is real, Yeshua promises that believers are ultimately secure in God’s eternal care. He also urges trust: “Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom” (Luke 12:32). This is both a tender encouragement and a guarantee of secure inheritance.

In John, Yeshua makes some of His strongest declarations about eternal security. He says of His sheep: “And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand” (John 10:28–29). Here, spiritual protection is absolute. The believer is safe in the double grip of the Son and the Father. Yeshua also prays for their protection: “And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are (John 17:11), showing divine involvement in safeguarding believers.

In Acts, we see these promises play out. Angels release apostles from prison (Acts 5:19), Paul survives a shipwreck and a snakebite (Acts 27–28), and believers are often shielded until their mission is complete. God’s protection is evident in miraculous interventions and sovereign preservation.

In Revelation, Yeshua promises protection from ultimate judgment: “Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth” (Revelation 3:10). Overcomers are given secure access to the eternal city, and no harm can touch those sealed by God (Revelation 7:3). In the end, the Lamb will shepherd them, and “the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes” (Revelation 7:17).

Yeshua’s promises of security and protection are not a guarantee of a trouble-free life but of divine presence, spiritual preservation, and eternal safety. He assures His followers that no enemy—physical or spiritual—can separate them from the Father’s care. Amid trials, persecution, or danger, believers can walk in confidence, knowing that Messiah guards their soul, guides their steps, and guarantees their eternal inheritance.
